Perhaps the most famous polar explorer of the country, Viktor Ilyich Boyarsky, is celebrating his birthday today. Viktor Ilyich, the founder of the VIKAAR company, a scientist, writer, poet, Honorary Polar Explorer of Russia, has visited dozens of expeditions in the Arctic and Antarctic. Perhaps the most famous and difficult of them can be called the international expedition «Transantarctica», during which six participants crossed Antarctica by dog sled in seven months along the longest route of 6,500 km.
